Battlelines, drawn

Vandalia Community Unit School District #203 School Board had a special meeting with the Illinois State Board of Education today regarding recognition status for their mask optional policy. Watch the whole thing from 16:30 forward. This is a fascinating observation in how the battlines are being drawn in the cluster that is the IL government.

We suspect that Carmen Ayala's affidavit is giving local school boards the courage to recognize that this abhorrent political game is O-V-E-R.

The pain and suffering of children has gone on for too long.

Transcript of one segment:

ISBE:

"Masking is not referenced in ISBE Administrative Regulations".

Vandalia Attorney:

"We have to violate other provisions of legal requirements applicable to schools, in particular, emotional awareness, suicide awareness/emotional health...we have to risk violating those provisions to comply with a mask mandate. We have to risk lawsuits from parents thinking that we are violating their fundamental rights of parent control in their education bypassing this mandate or this policy. When we pass this policy, we present the legal defense to an act of criminal intimidation under our criminal code when somebody has their activities at school affected or encumbered in any manner because of the belief or suspected belief that the person could have a communicable disease. I'm also concerned I'm going to have parents saying forcing that mask on a child is offensive touching. Am I then placing myself and this board in a position that it is complicit or an accessory in a battery that a jury could conclude? But really, it's the emotional injury, the academic injury as articulation deficits are significant. The tunnel vision that is applied to this mask mandate in the absence of any true health metrics...when we have some districts where we have suicidal ideation outpacing in school infection transfer of Covid and the disruption of these kids lives...that we're concerned that [we will] cause more harm. The danger is our State Superintendent [Carmen Ayala] and the unwillingness of this state board [ISBE] or this staff to exercise any discretion by definition [of case law] acting arbitrarily."

The kids are NOT ok. The battle to preserve the IL Constitution is REAL but we will recapture our stolen liberties sooner than later. Our children's futures depend on it.

Shame on the state of IL for the crimes against our children. SHAME.
