While the visit was peaceful and perfectly legal, the narrative spin is dizzying. This week, a national group of experts hosted a zoom webinar launching their advocacy toolkit titled "Urgency of Normal". American children are struggling and policies ought to reflect an urgency of normal. View the toolkit here and share with local policy makers, school administrators, municipal leadership, etc. Our children need stability, enrichment, and a compassionate community.
As we move into a mid-term election year, Awake Illinois is excited to announce the State Board of Elections certified our organization as a nonpartisan civic organization. Our chapters are excited to promote civic empowerment in their communities. Stay tuned for upcoming civic events!
Lastly, many people have been asking us about "Bonds for the Win" that has been circulating. At this time, Awake Illinois is not pursuing this effort. Should any resources be available or worthy of initiative on this topic, we will be sure to share.
